Naoussa Xinomavro Wine Fair & Dinner
Taste over 20 outstanding Xinomavro wines from the town of Naoussa in the hills of Macedonia in Northern Greece, a region recognized for its superior quality since the 1970’s.
For those less familiar, Xinomavro is an indigenous Greek grape varietal, one of four ‘ambassador’ grapes of the country alongside Assyrtiko, Moschofilero and Agiorghitiko. Literally meaning acid (Xinos) and black (Mavros), Xinomavro has been gaining in popularity the world over thanks to publicity efforts of the European Union and Greece.
WINE FAIR (6pm, Main Deck)
In the casual setting of a walk-around tasting hall on the Main Deck (L1) of the Riverboat, we will be featuring a range of specially selected examples of this prolific grape that puts Naoussa on the world wine map!

ABOUT THE NAOUSSA WINE REGION
An hour’s drive from the bustling city of Thessaloniki in Northern Greece, we find the tranquil town of Naoussa situated on the bright green Eastern foothills of Mount Vermion with its invigorating streams and waterfalls. Protected from the Northern winds and blessed with plenty of sunshine, the region is ideal for vine growing – particularly so for the indigenous varietal of Xinomavro which thrives in its clay-like and limestone-rich soil. Since becoming the first region in Greece to be given its own appellation in 1971, PDO Naoussa has been dedicated to producing top quality wines exclusively of the Xinomavro varietal, wines which have been said to be on par with the famous Barolos and Barberescos of Italy.
